Dr. Peter M. Koblan III, DDS has been practicing Orthodontics for over 18 years. A Northport native, he was one of a few students to take the LIRR to school every day to attend Chaminade High School. After skipping his senior year at Chaminade, he went on to receive his BS from Fordham University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS) from SUNY Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Koblan completed a two year General Practice residency at Nassau County Medical Center, where he was Chief resident and Attending in the second year. After having a short but very successful career as a General Dentist, Dr. Koblan decided to specialize in Orthodontics. He received his Certificate in Orthodontics from New York University, where he served as class president in his first year. He has been published in numerous Dental Journals, including a special request from the British Dental Journal to publish his work on “A Surgically – Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion Technique.” Dr. Koblan regularly attends continuing education meetings and courses that keep him abreast of the latest developments in technology and Orthodontic care. He has held active membership to local, state and national dental and orthodontic organizations, including the Suffolk County Dental Society, New York State Dental Association, American Dental Association, New York State Society of Orthodontists, Northeast Society of Orthodontists and the American Association of Orthodontists. In his spare time Dr. Koblan enjoys building and playing electric guitars, surfing, and spending time with his wife Karen and their daughter Anna.
