Dr. Erin was born and raised in Shoreham, New York. Having orthodontic treatment herself, Dr. Erin became passionate about the field at a young age and began orthodontic assisting at the age of 18 until she started dental school 6 years later. She completed her undergraduate degree in Spanish on full scholarship at SUNY Stony Brook. Dr. Erin received her doctorate degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska; then returned to New York and completed a one-year general-practice residency at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. After that, she worked as a general dentist for one year and then completed her orthodontic residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx.

In 2016, Dr. Erin married her husband, Dr. Manny Diamantakis, her dental co-resident at North Shore University Hospital. In 2018, she gave birth to their first child, Leo. He is a happy, healthy baby boy and keeps them laughing every day. They also enjoy spending time with their energetic one-year-old Corgi named Finn.
